Interior floor paint question

Ok so when I got my Jeep it didn't have any carpet in it. I have asked for a BedRug carpet kit (I think that's what it's called) for my birthday and pretty sure it's on the way. So i'd like to clean the floor and paint it before installing the carpet kit. I am also most likely going to sound deaden it and the posts here i've been reading are awesome!

As for cleaning and painting the floor, what kind of paint should I use? High Temp? Just don't want any bare metal under there. I will remove all the seats and center console and everything.

Scuff the floor with some scotchbright to get rid of the shininess before laying down primer.

Keep it simple: sand it with 300 coarse grit, wipe clean it with alcohol and prime paint it, then top coat it. Let it dry open for 24 hours.

And just me being me.. I wouldn't paint over those rubber plugs if I were doing it.

haven't done floor boards in 15 yr but if I remember correctly etching primer isn't a topcoat soit would still need to be painted over the primer. technology and paint has improved im sureso I may not be current on my info. me personally I would just wash it and probably por15 it

Read the specs carefully. POR-15 is only good if it is all rusted.

I used por15 on my frame one side had heavy surface rust other still had spots of paint, I sanded the paint to bare metal, both sides are holding up the same in New England winters.

Their directions for bare metal say to use their metal prep spray not that it won’t work.

POR15 is great, follow directions. Need good ventilation.
