Found my brake lights not working and the fuse melted, installed a new fuse and they are working fine now but if the fuse melted once I figure it will happen again. I inspected as much of the wiring as I could see including up in the areas behind the tail lights and in the tail gate and CHMSL wiring, moved it around while the brake lights were on and didn't see any damage nor did the fuse melt again. Checked the wiring to the after market 4 way trailer connector, same, no visible damage.
Are there any likely places where folks have found damage/abrasion? Is it even possible for the switch at the pedal to short intermittently?
