Intermittent gauge cluster?

I've tried all the "fixes" including new connectors and twisting pins etc.
If I have never gotten a check engine light for ccd bus error can I assume my gauge cluster is beyond help?
Quite a few used ones have been sold on ebay so it can't be all that uncommon can it?
Has anyone here flashed the chip on the cluster to set the mileage of your choice?

Careful with that last one. Assuming you’re talking about changing the odometer readout to something other than actual is a felony offense.

In my state you sign a statement that actual mileage is different than odometer.
Actual mileage is obviously different due to the fact the original gauge cluster is faulty.
A new cluster from the dealer comes with zero miles and used ones may have 300k miles.
The law goes to intent, my vehicles go to the shredder when I'm done with them.
Understand your concern tho.
