Is this front drive shaft done?

BLUF: would you still drive with this front shaft?

4.5” lift w/ savvy short arms.

Was In the process of chasing down some minor vibrations. Engine mounts, tranny mount and rear drivetrain were Gucci.

I discovered the front driveshaft shows a little abuse. I’ll admit, I did not have the pinion set right for the longest time due to measuring from other sights rather than using the u-joint and driveshaft to get it on the same angle. But vibrations were never the bad, still it bothered me

And the centering yoke shows wear where the cup seal isn’t flush anymore but the ball and needles apparently ok. No excessive play.

I've done plenty of questionable things with driveshafts and gotten away with it in terms of function... vibrations usually led me to replacing the driveshaft...after dumping money into replacement parts for the original.

Sometimes it's cheaper to give up early.

Rather than take a chance or rebuild it, I'd just get a new one personally.

If that centering ball freezes up it can take out your transfer case. Or so I've heard.

It 100% can…and it can happen when you’re flat towing it back from Lubbock when Covid hits and you have to get your son out of Texas Tech asap, ha.

I know full well…happened on I20.

Still have the dents in the tub as well.
