This was off my 05 about 3 years ago. I replaced it as preventative. Is it good? I’m cleaning out the attic.

While the teeth of the gear have a some wear; the true test for the OPDA is whether there is sidewards play in the shaft or squealing when the shaft is spun at engine speeds which indicates the bearing/bushing is worn due to lack of lubrication.

Like Charles said the gear look OK. Is there still a tag on OPDA, if so post a picture. Pull the gear off the shaft and pull the shaft out and look for scoring, see attached. If the shaft is scored toss the OPDA.

That helps. Thank you so much. I will remove and take a peak. I have another 05 I recently picked up and I don’t know if it’s had the OPDA swapped or not. It has 155,000K on it. Seems fine now, but if I get the screaming monkey’s I could swap my old one in if it is score-free!

The attached example is from a Crown OPDA with only 10k miles. It is my opinion that a original OPDA maybe worth saving and rebushing if the shaft and gear can be saved.

I never had any idea of the Crown construction until today. The bushing area is less than a third of the original and the spiral groove cut in the shaft for oiling doesn't seem to work as advertised. The scoring you see in the photo is deep enough to catch your fingernail in.
