Is this rust a big deal?

So the rust on my jeep is actually in really good condition. This is the only section that has rust on it (and it's rusted all the way through in one spot). I'm not sure what this is connected to (It's directly beneath the front left headlight). Should I get this replaced or fixed? Is it a big deal? Thanks!

Id certainly inspect the rest of the frame thoroughly and repair that if somehow that is the only spot.

Your steering box is near that area correct? I would consider that an issue that needs to be addressed asap. Also as suggested look over the entire frame I have a feeling there's more

Theres high probability there is more hidden
Anything that is rusted thru needs immediate attention
Even if ur only sealcoating properly

Esp anything that supports weigh from other components

The bolt at the area circled is your steering box, so that section of frame (frame horn) should be repaired if rusted. Hit that area with a wire brush and see how much remains after you scrub the rust off.

As others have mentioned, check out the rest of your frame, paying extra attention to the sections in the middle, i.e. control arm mounts and trans skid mount area.

Thanks for the responses. So I have contacted every body shop, collision repair, and auto shop in the surrounding three cities of where I live and none of them work on rust or frame repair. Where do you go to get this fixed?

Maybe try weld shops. A lot of places don't like working on frames.

No production shop that wants to make money is going to work on it. I would look for an off road specific shop or ask around for someone capable of doing the repairs at home. I would be picky about who did the repairs.
