Hello,

I have a 2000 jeep Tj Sahara. I got a check engine light on. The check engine flashes 5 times and stays on. No more flashing or numbers. I did the turning the ignition switch on-off, but no code. I went to AutoZone for a scanning, the guy said to me the scanner didn't provide a code.

Go to another auto parts store.

Or buy a $30 Bluetooth ODB dongle on Amazon and use the free Torque Lite app.

Some years let you read the codes... can't recall the procedure but it's like switching the key on and off three times.

Is it running ok? Disconnect the battery negative cable and see if it comes back. The key trick doesn't work on 98, 99 and some 2000 models. With the key trick you have to turn the key on and off 3 times in 5 seconds to display any codes.

I’d also go to Napa or O’reilly To see if they can see the code.

But, I’m with Mike Meyers (the boogiman right?) and pull the battery and see if it comes back.
