I had jury duty yesterday afternoon. All the judges must've left for the golf course, because they dismissed us as soon as we came in the door. "No trials this afternoon".

Even if you have to serve there Ventura County Courthouse has gotta be one of the nicest places to be stuck for a day, so much better than downtown Los Angeles.
Become a Convicted Felon and you will never have to serve again.
In my county the treat you like shit. Jury duty is not a bad gig if your employer pays you. Here we get $8 a day from the court but the first day you get bupkis. Serve a week and get $32.

My old boss was a convicted felon in California, he complained about serving jury duty and voted. I told him he really didn't need to worry so much about either of those things and he thought I was nuts. I probably am, it's an odd world that's for sure. @bucky, could be worse, we don't really have to do the whole trial thing if everybody opts out.
