The recent thread on What Book Are You Reading got me digging up some of my favorite short stories that are freely available online.

Post links to some of your favorite short stories.

I guess novels would be OK too but give a warning to the unwary.

I lean more to sc-fi so most of the links I post in here will be of that genre, but post whatever you like and think others might enjoy.

I'll start with these 3. I already posted the first one in the books thread, but will put it here for easy reference.

Here are a couple of favorites from Fred Saberhagen's the Berserker series.

Berserkers are machines programmed to destroy all life. HERE is the wiki page on them..

Now the machines roam the galaxy looking to destroy any life they find.

The stories vary widely in quality, but I found both of these to be quite good.

This one is my favorite Berserker story.

Wings Out Of Shadow

The formatting on this one is sub par, but still OK
