So after wheeling my 2003 Rubicon this past weekend I have decided I need a brake upgrade. Now before everyone locks up the site trying to post "Black Magic" all at the same time, listen to what I am looking for. The issue I am experiencing is with cold brakes. When out crawling around, I would like to have more brakes available for the steep descents and being able to ease down ledges, etc. I know people have touted Black Magic for their increase in pedal feel and stopping distance, especially when the tire sizes get up there, but I am looking for something with more "cold bite." If the answer is still Black Magic, that's great and I will look at the many options available. But I don't want to invest in new pads, rotors, calipers, etc. only to find that these brakes only work good with heat in them. I know from owning BMWs and other performance vehicles that different brakes compounds work better at a particular temperature. That is what my concern is. What says the internet?
