Just purchased a 1997 TJ 4.0 (3rd jeep). Been about 10 years since I owned my last TJ. I've been chasing a idle surge problem.
The jeep starts easy idles fine right at first then starts to surge, at full warmup idle is fine.
After researching I have replaced IAC valve and the IAT sensor. Idle did get better, but still a little inconsistent. I tried cleaning the TB first before replacing. Unfortunately the IAC that came with the jeep was not a Mopar unit. I replaced with a oriellys part.
I've been searching for a MOPAR part and it looks like they don't make them anymore. Does anyone have a line a on a new part number or a suitable OE replacement?
I also saw that it could be the water temp sensor? My jeep only has the sensor near that thermostat and watching my temp gauge it seems fine (runs about 200-205).
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
