So im am working on a 2004 TJ with automatic transmission. Put 5.13 gears in and of course I need to change speedometer gear. Well before this I put in a Teraflex SYE. So I put in the new speedometer gear and indexed the speedometer drive according to proper tooth designation. Well speedo didn't work and stripped the gear. Thought it was a fluke so put another new speedo gear on and low and behold that one stripped also. So I called ?Teraflex this afternoon and they were a bit puzzled but did say I may have to turn the speedo drive a bit more than the factory index slots and add new slots so the clamp can work. Puzzled as I would not think this should have been stated in the instructions as now I'm out $80.00 for 2 speedo gears. Any thoughts on how to get my speedo to work is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it just wasn't indexed correctly. I noticed mine didn't designate the particular gear I was using so I just did it by feel. Worked as expected.
