My TJ came with two top-to-bottom cracks in the windshield. I'm thinking about ordering a replacement. I'd prefer that it not have a rear view mirror mount. Can you get a replacement windshield without one? Has anyone tried to do that?
New windshields don't come with the mounts on them, those are added after the window is installed. That being said, if you get a replacement window, it won't have a mount on it.

A few reasons: I like to sit up high in the Jeep and the mirror is right in my line of site. The back window of my soft top is too opaque to see very far behind me anyway, I often pull my camper with my Sequoia so I'm used to just using the side mirrors anyway, and I just really like an unobstructed view when I'm in the backcountry. (In the summer I'll take the doors off, and put the top and windshield down.)

Interesting. Last time I had one installed it didn't have a mount, and that was the same deal with other vehicles I've had it done on before in the past.
