Okay so I'm still in hard lockdown (downunder style) and apart from three weeks of freedom we've been that way since March and after six months people go a bit nuts! Like this post!

My wife is showing signs of cabin fever but this morning she came to my rescue and says, "why don't you get the F&$K out of my hair and work on your other girl", I'm like WTF! Then she says, "you know, the one that lives in the garage?” The penny drops, "yes ma'am!!!!!!" I steal her Credit Card and launch myself out the door.

I'm thinking I can fix the (high) readings from the oil pressure gauge with a quick trip to the local parts sho... cough, cough, err... Supermarket (only allowed to go out for essentials) thaaaats next door to the parts shop for a replacement oil pressure switch. And they have one in stock to suit, yippee!

Something nice and easy to do and as you'd expect everything goes well; disconnect battery, remove plug, remove oil pressure switch, replace oil pressure switch, reconnect plug, connect battery. Now I need to check if the gauge is reading correctly so I go for another drive - to the "essential supermarket" - and after a vigorous massaging of the skinny pedal I notice normal readings at about 4, raising a little when pressed, happy days!

Then it happened...

...I stop at the lights and an expensive looking bright red sports car pulls up next to me with a very attractive young blond lady inside that proceeds to say (with a seductive smile), "I love your car!".

After resisting the urge to reply with, "Not a car bitch it's a Jeep", I said (like a reliable old dad), "It's a lot fun but it's also a lot of work". Young lady says, "Did you import it?” Old dad says "Narr, bought it nearly twenty years ago. Young lady says, "Oh, ok well I got your number (mechanics shop sticker) from the back of your car so..." And with that she sped off like a rocket.

Needless to say I've been feeling young & dumb ever since that happened! The wife's hiding because I'm looking at her like we just met. I'm pretty sure the thermostat isn't working correctly. Do you think I might be able to make this happen all over again tomorrow if I get in my wife's hair, steel the CC, change out the thermo, go for a test drive and...

Don’t over think it. Just jump in the Jeep and go find a place to run over shit. Best thing for cabin fever.

it probably never happened at all, just a mirage from the cabin fever
That's how it seems now, and it's only been a few hours. I'm feeling it's best to be sure and test the theory tomorrow.

That would be nice but only allowed out for one hour a day with a 3 mile radius from home.
Fishing trawlers, workcamps and married for almost thirty years, I'm ok with lockdown but your right about what just happened a few hour ago, I am definitely overthinking that, not going to forget it ether, nope only dementia can cure me now.

That happened to me the other day (sorta). Driving to work with no top/doors, super warm morning, loving life. Stopped at light, and what pulls up next to me? A suburban full of what appeared to be elementary school teachers (the one's we all hope for). And good gawd did they think my lunch box in the passenger seat wearing its seat belt (because I didn't have doors remember) was the cutest thing they'd ever seen. They were all taking pictures and then it progressed to "that jeep looks so fun, do you take it out often?" and "I wish I could go"

Alas, their right turn lane progressed without me...

It’s a Jeep, lanes (mere lines on the floor) stopped you? 😂

Pretty sure I was scrambling to remember how much vacation days I had and considered calling in sick. Even if I couldn't run them down I was determined to take my plucky lunch box on a babe hunt worthy of the books!

Alas, good judgment and a green traffic light prevailed.
