I was working on my sisters jeep trying to diagnose why her A/C was not cold. I discovered that the clutch wasnt kicking in at all. Checked the fuses, fuse 21 was blown. I replaced the fuse A/C engages and works fine. drive to the gas station and back. A/C doesnt work on the way back. Discovered fuse blew again. I begin checking for shorts. visual inspection reveal the cluster housing the A/C clutch switch, fuel injectors, and o2 sensor? has the heat shrink wrap resting on the exhaust manifold. remove the wrap and the large amount of burnt up electrical tape. reveals bare wires touching. Well there is the short but as I follow the o2 wires to attempt to unplug them i cannot, there is no plug. the o2 sensor is spliced into the rest of the wires, with one of the 4 o2 wires being spliced with the ac clutch switch. My main question is essential if i repair the wires and reroute away from the exhaust manifold is this still an acceptable connection? as it ran with no issues before, or do I need to source a new harness so i have the proper connectors for the o2 sensor, or should i change the wires that are spliced?

it is my bank 1 sensor 2. and the o2 sensor is spliced like so. blue to white/tan, black to purple/oj , white to black/blue, and another black to to black.. the black to black then piggybacks off of the ac clutch's black wire. so again is this all acceptable. as they are just 2 ground connections? are the rest spliced properly? im not an electrician so trying to compare the wiring diagrams is hurting my head

it is an 03 with the 4.0 i have already downloaded those, but with wires being spliced in different spots i cant follow the diagram the greatest, why i am asking for help, i listed all the connections involved.
after staring at them for hours alll i have come up with is what i assumed that the black is connected to black as ground. and that seems to be proper according to s132 s137 and g105 page 661 in the manual 8w-15-8 but i cannot seem to follow the other 3 i get lost the colors don't seem to match and i just cant fully grasp these diagrams
yeah I looked through those and cant make sense of it. i've looked through all the wiring diagrams pertaining to it. again that is why i am asking for help.
The white/tan and purple/orange wire are from the O2 sensor heater relay for 1/2 and 2/2, the tan/white wires are the O2 sensor signals for 1/2 and 2/2 ; the black/light blue are the O2 sensor signal grounds for 1/2 and 2/2. The black are the O2 sensor heater grounds for 1/2 and 2/2.

yes and no, the colors are what i was looking for and helps. however my 1/1 is not connected to my 1/2 it appears. I will attach some photos. my bank 1 sensor 1 has a plug and is plugged in and goes back into the harness at a different location i have 2 purple/oj wires spliced into one, that runs to the bank 1 sensor 2
According to the schematics O2 sensor 1/1 wiring Black/Dark Green wire is the O2 sensor signal from PCM, Black/Light Blue wire is the O2 sensor ground, Orange/Dark Green is from the O2 sensor down stream Heater Relay and Brown/Orange is PCM O2 sensor Upstream Control.
