Ongoing brake problems

For the past year and a half I’ve been having ongoing brake problems. My oem master cylinder started leaking into my booster, causing the pedal to become hard. I changed both the mc and booster out and the pedal felt normal again. A few weeks later, the same thing happened again. The pedal would get hard like the booster was going out again but then it would go back to normal. This happened on and offfor the past year. I changed both the booster and mc 3 more times, but using replacement parts from different parts stores, and I always bought brand new parts.
Has anyone else experienced a problem similar to this? Or does anyone know of quality parts to go with?

You may be able to get individual parts.

Do you always get new check valves and grommets with those new boosters or reuse the old ones? If reusing it could be one of those.

You could have a vacuum problem, from bad check valve to a collapsed hose or a hose that collapsed when it is hot and functions fine when cool.

Are you dumping brake fluid out of the booster each time so you know the master is leaking back in and taking out the booster? It is statistically impossible for that to happen so we need to know that you have seen brake fluid each time and are not just assuming you have bad masters because the pedal gets hard.

I use a different brand booster and mc every time I change them out. They’re generic parts from part stores around here. I’m looking for quality parts right now and I’m hoping someone can recommend something for me.

I've never found anything to last longer or work better than OEM. That is where I would start.

I tried a Dorman mc and it started leaking a few weeks later. @mrblaine do you sell any mc’s through Black Magic?

I did find a Crown mc with the same part number as an oem Mopar mc. Does Crown make quality replacement parts for Jeeps?

If you had issues with a Dorman, that is very surprising. We use only Dorman for our big brake kit masters since we had issues with several other brands. We use about 10 per month and our failure rate is less than 1 in 200.

I don't sell the stock master replacement. I only sell the masters that I do because they come in kits.

Also, the Dorman has a good warranty, did you get it replaced and try again?

I have no experience with Crown masters. The experiences I have with a wide range of other Crown parts would not put that part anywhere on any list of items I would use.
