Hi all. Quick question. I have a 2000 TJ 4.0 with the NV 3550 transmission. I just bought a reman engine. When I look at my old crankshaft, it looks like the pilot bearing is in a sleeve installed in the outer, larger diameter recess. I bought a pilot bearing off rockauto, and it’s just the bearing with no sleeve, and it looks like it fits in the new crankshaft in the inner, smaller diameter recess. The FSM doesn’t mention anything about a sleeve for my year. Is it ok to install as is into the inner, smaller recess or should I find a bearing with the larger sleeve? I included photos of the new crankshaft and the old one with the pilot bearing/sleeve installed. Thanks!!!
