Power steering

Jeep wrangler 2000 TJ Sahara – manual does not specify what type of fluid to use for power steering. Local auto shops for a match for ATF +4, but I've seen threads that mention not to use this and go with conventional power steering fluid. Any correct answers greatly appreciated.

For 2000 it is conventional power steering fluid, in 2003 they changed to ATF+4 (I think)

Thank you, I have topped it off with ATF+4 as it was low, but not sure I need to pull all of it out or will it play nicely with the conventional PS fluid going forward. Hate to mix fluids but read they were really similar, but with red dye to distinguish between the two. I can use a turkey baster if needed...
