Webpage header displays "Free VIN check from CARFAX", so it must be a promotion they are running or something. But ya, super cool. Thank you.

Worked for me. Of course I ran my own vin, and I got a report for that in feb when I got her.

If a dealer with an account runs the VIN once it is free for everybody to check that VIN, the subscriber paid for the report and everybody can view it. At least that's how I read it.
