Question on buying a TJ

New member here. Negotiating the purchase of a 2004 with 94k miles. Planning on taking it to a Jeep place in Austin. What all should I have them do? Was thinking of radiator flush, service differentials, and transfer case.

Anything else? It is a manual 5 speed.

According to the carfax where has your Tj been. It would make a difference as to what damage to look for. Hidden and not so hidden deterioration if it’s a rust belt/salty road vehicle or sand in the bearings if it’s a beach or dune buggy. My ‘02 needed new brake lines and hoses but the brakes and bearings were ok. Needed a new starter but with 140,000 I wasn’t surprised.

Change out all fluids, new air filter, spark plugs and brake pads. Do what you can yourself, and let the shop do the rest. Then you can start spending some $$$$ on up grades! I use Mobile 1 motor oil. ATF +4 in the transfer case and Red Line MTL in the tranny, the Red Line is a must!

Besides all the fluid, look if the RMS leaks.
Then go for the four O2 sensors, CPS sensor, and also the OPDA if you have budget to replace them.
