Hi,

I have a 2003 Jeep TJ for the last 12 years. We’ve drove it less than 8,000 miles in those years. I’m finally trying to restore it for my kid when he turns 16 next year. There’s small rust hole on the rear quarter panel. I’d like to sand it down and patch it up. Then I’d like to put corner guards on them. Basically to cover up my patch work and make it look cool while I’m at it. I’m not looking to spend a ton of money. I’m also not looking for something that will rust out in a year. Any recommendations?

Thank you
Tony V

The key to rust removal is to get ALL the rust gone. I've never had good results with any of the 'rust reformer' crap. Get both inside and outside clear of rust then use a good primer and paint made for rust. Multiple coats of each. When totally dry then use a cosmoline or FF so you can monitor the rust stays gone. Hang the corner guard over top.
