Repainted dark tan hard top

I haven’t really seen a completed dark tan painted hard top so I figured I would post. Mine was beyond just oiling. It was super faded, and worn through in some areas. All I did was wipe it down with wax and grease remover and some scotch bright. Taped off the windows. Then I sprayed it with SEM code 5110 using a HPLV gun. That paint code is for it mixed, but they also sell it in spray cans as “camel”. It came out good especially considering it required minimal prep. I had previously used oil on a few spots to see if it would restore it, and must have missed them with the wax and grease remover. The paint didn’t stay evenly on those spots it clumped up and didn’t look right. If you oiled your whole top I would wait a few months to let most of it come off. Then scrub the top with wax and grease remover. For the spots that this happened to I lightly sanded with 600 grit, scrubbed them with remover, and then resprayed. In the end they came out fine.

This came out great. So the same paint used for the interior panels SEM “med camel tan” (color coat 5020) is the same paint used here for this 2001 Sahara hardtop?

The OP hasn't been on the forum in a few years, but I'm curious too.

OP mentions SEM 5010, but I don't see that here. I do see 5020, which you mention. I think the OP's reference to the rattle-can version must be SEM Color Coat Camel 15173?

So this finish on the hardtop is the Camel Med SEM 5110 (Camel interior color)?

It came out clean. I have a 2001 Sahara Sienna Pearl color and my hardtop is faded. I believe the color is either Camel or Spice , not sure which one is which
