Repairing Laminate for Soft Top Windows

Quick and easy fix to seal up those cracks in your soft top windows, especially the rear window. Purchased Lamin-X ($13) invisible peel-n-stick water proof "tape" from Amazon. It's on the expensive side, but less $ than a new window. I wasn't sure where to post this. If there is a better area, then let me know and I will post it there.

I should have taken before pics but did not. However, here are several pics of after the repair. The 2 largest cracks (horizontal) were 6" and 8". The inside the cabin pics clearly show the fix does not obstruct/impair view out the window. Please note that the material used on the upper left crack (interior view) used packing tape and was a quick knee jerk reaction to the monsoons to prevent water in the interior. Don't do it as I was unable to get the tape strands off the window. The other cracks came later and used the repair laminate. The repair has gone through several monsoon downpours with no leaks and temp ranges from a low of 40 to a high of 85. The repair material is nearly identical to the original window material and as such expands and contracts with temp changes. I am able to roll up and unroll the window when needed without issue. This fix beats spending hundreds hiring a boat seamstress to replace the window material, saves more if a rear window replacement is available or includes the rear side windows or having to replace the soft top entirely. I was unable to source a replacement window for my top. My top is still in very good condition so was not interested in buying a new top at this time. In summary, I suspect this repair is permanent rather then a temporary bandaid just based on the initial review of the materials and install.
