Selling A Title?

Good day all. Not entirely certain of the legalities surrounding this but I’ve got a scrap TJ tub with a clean Washington title sitting in the side yard and rather than scrap, I figure perhaps somebody can make use of the title/VIN.

What is something like this worth? Looking for input from others who have simply sold a title/VIN to somebody without anything actual components.

Title is for a 2005 Wrangler.

It’s been done in the vintage car market forever.
Legally, it would probably be best to offer the title with the tub. Let the buyer do what they want with it at that point.

I've bought a few with VIN tags. It is fairly worthless without the dash tag if DMV wants to be a little bitch. The most I pay is 300 for the title, and dash VIN tag. More if a good dash is included.

Tub does little good without the dash. There are no permanent VIN markings in the tub.

The dash is the most valuable. The one under the grill, the one screwed under the seat, the imprinted frame numbers, and the door jamb sticker are all useless since they are easily removed, frames get swapped, tags get removed and stickers fall off. The one thing that the DMV checks and all cops check is the dash tag. It ain't right, you can have issues if they want to be dicks about it.

When I first got my fiberglass 1972 CJ5 all it had was the metal tag screwed to the firewall and I got no title. I used many parts from my 1977 CJ5 along with the title, metal tag and the dashboard. The main reason for the dashboard was it's VIN tag sticker which obviously came from the factory. I wish that CJ5 didn't lose that dashboard in the 21 yrs I didn't own it but I did get the title with it this time and it still has the metal tag on the firewall.
