The OME Sport shocks are near to the Rancho 5000x shocks, but firmer. Not harsh. Better for road use, but get firmer than the Ranchos for potholes. It's hard to describe . Similar but different. Still soft, just a firm soft.

I run RS9000xls at the softest setting on my TJ. I can't imagine a much better ride bang for buck. Next go around it's going to be some remote res Kings or Fox

I just replaced my front Rancho 9000xl's with a set of 5000x's. I had the 9000's set on 3 or 4. There are some subtle differences in the ride. I find the 5000's are smoother riding on rough road surfaces but feel softer during cornering. The 9000's were firmer in corners and a tad more controlled. Overall they are both great shocks. I only changed because the 5000's have a slighty longer length and allowed me to get an additional 1/2 inch of uptravel. My Jeep is not a DD. If it was and I had to choose I would lean just a bit towards the 9000's.
