Still selling parts from my 2000 TJ and somebody is interested in the ECM.

My TJ did NOT have skim enabled but the person who wants it does. What will that person need to do for either option (keep it or eliminate it) in their 2000? Both have manual transmissions.

Will need to take it a dealer with a service dept that knows how to properly use a DRB. Not very many left that can do that.. I would have them contact Mark at Wranglerfix.

They will also need to buy the skim module from one of those Mopar parts websites. There is a nice thread in the resources section showing what they need to do. It's important to program the ECM before connecting the module. Installation is easy. They will also need to get those grey chipped keys bought and cut and programmed. You need to get two keys programmed and then you can use those two to program upto 8 keys total on the Jeep itself. Talk to Mark.

Found the link - I followed the instructions here and worked perfectly. But it was a pain finding a dealer that would do it. I tried like 6-7 before I found with an older tech that knew what I was talking about.

If the buyer wants to keep it; needs to buy a new SKIM module and have it programmed to the new PCM by a competent programmer. Once a SKIM module is programmed to a certain PCM it cannot by undone. Like cutting a key.

If the buyer does not want to keep it; unplug the SKIM module at the steering column ***BEFORE*** the new PCM is plugged in. Else you’ll brick the PCM and it will need flashed.
