Slug in the intake

This is a longshot but thought I would ask to see if anyone else has seen this.

I like many here had to replace my exhaust manifold , its cracked. It actually came apart fairly easy. I was cleaning the old gasket off and noticed something strange as I was checking the valves out.

A foreign object that looked like a pill sitting in one of the intake ports. I have no idea how it got there , its aluminum and has been riding on the valve for some time. It's too big to get sucked into the cylinder, I'm thankful for that. Picture attached, anyone ever see something similar, I think it's been there since the day it rolled of the assembly line.

I was thinking the slug in the intake was actually the 4.0 as I clicked on.

It was placed there by the aliens to mess with your mind . Better grab the aluminum foil!

When your engine was built and started for the very first time the engineers realized it was way too quiet for a 4.0 liter so the threw that in there to make it sound like every other 4.0.

Looks like some sort of polishing bead. I bet some part was tossed in a vibrating drum filled with thousands of them to knock the rough edges of the part being manufactured. Odd it made a trip away from its source though.

Could that be one of the dowels that the intake manifold rests on until you put in the bolts?
