My dad just had his Ramsey stolen of his trailer too. its was at least 20 years old and had pulled many a junker up on the trailer. He was happy to claim insurance and get a new winch with wireless controls.

Thieves suck.

OR someone offered him more money and he felt bad about backing out on your deal ;)
Sad but true sometimes. My buddy just had that happen on a set of coilovers. Had a deal and was in route and they guy said don't come, a buddy wants them for $100 more.

Yep, sadly this is becoming more common these days where people can’t stay true to their word.

The way I read it is that he backed out of the agreement and sold it to someone else (probably for more) and used the theft story instead of the truth.

I think that is exactly what happened. It is a two year old Zeon 10s. We agreed on $700.

Yup, he probably sold to someone else. Unfortunately, until the money exchanges hands, he can do what he wants.

I'm a casino chip collector and this happens all the time. Someone lists something for too low of a price. You're the first one to contact him and say you want it. Then someone else offers what it's worth and you get a lame excuse. The main site is a forum like this. Lots of posts calling people out as dirt bags. Whining and arguments always follow.

I brought this up with some friends. People are usually mixed between 'honor your first deal' and 'get more money if you can, F* everyone else, make more money if you can'.

I’m all for people getting more money, if they can. I just wish they could be honest about it and not inconvenience people by making them change their plans, run to the bank (to withdrawal AND then deposit the funds), etc.

They would have to take off my bumper to get the winch. I had to in order to put it on.

But he probably lied. I had a couple of people no show to deals after I was there waiting.

You got any of those antique Mother of pearl chips? ($$)

I'm not into those. Mostly clay/casino chips.

Many early Jeep mods were paid for by selling lots of my collection. I can only afford so many expensive hobbies and Jeeps are more fun lol.

Since I host games, I mainly collect larger sets that I can use for a game.

This one is a tournament set I use:

Nice! Being a host, you must see some high end chips. Cool thing to collect. I agree Jeeps are more fun but that’s a neat hobby.

My grandmother inlaw gave my wife a set of mop chips that were her fathers ( great grandfather). Other than that, I know nothing about them. They are pretty though. A mix of round and rectangle. Not even sure if it is a true set. May have been just a casual collection of different sets.

Most MOP (and other home poker chips) don't end up being worth much. The values can sky rocket if they can be traced to a casino or a famous person. Or if they've been in a movie or something.

Usually the older the better.
