Soft Top Options For 04 Unlimited

I bought my 04 Unlimited a few weeks ago and it came with only a hard top. Living in Florida the 1st thing I did was take the hard top off. I would like to keep the hard top off while the weather is warm but with our frequent afternoon thunderstorms I need some protection from the rain. I love the Best Top Sail Cloth square back soft tops but they are $900 just for the top. I don’t have a frame or the hardware for the windshield or tailgate. From what I have found it looks like a frame would cost another $600+. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what I could do in order to get a soft top and necessary hardware to keep it in the $600-$700 range If that is even possible for an Unlimited. Thanks Chad! I was hoping to find something a little cheaper but it looks like that might not be an option. There are a lot of mods I want to do to it lift, wheels, tires as a start so the less I could pay for a soft top, the sooner I could lift it. I’m realizing that $800-$900 is probably what it’s going to cost. Thanks again for the link

Other than not being able to take it with you. I think that a hardtop is actually easier to take off and put back on than a soft top. If you have a good place you leave it hanging. That’s mostly what I do.

I am planning on the Bestop Supertop NX Which includes the hardware ($1150). After that, you can replace with only the fabric as long as it’s available.

on mine right now is a Rampage (previous owner). It’s a fastback style, all panels are individually replaceable, and it has a nice storage built in up top so you’re never without your sides/rear. However I have a bunch of failures all at once, so I’m limping by with it missing some Velcro, rear zippers can’t go all the way down without derailing, etc...

I have always had a soft top, replaced the OEM top 10+ years ago with the Bestop Sail Cloth top. It is far and above better than the OEM top, it’s still in very good quality.

I think Bestop has discontinued the OEM Sail cloth replacement top.

I really like the Supertop NX, but $1,100 is pretty expensive.

I found an OEM frame, and door surrounds for about $150. Looks like the fabric is about $300-600.

I've seen a used Bestop for $500 and a used OEM for $800 (with door surrounds).
