Isn’t Maestro an overkill feature?

That looks damn clean! Now I’m debating on which unit to get… Alpine and Sony both have great options. I know I wouldn’t have a use for the hdmi / camera personally

Super cheap wired apple car play and android auto.

I do wish I spent the extra and got the wireless one. It is now only 10 bucks more and has usb-c.

I was looking at the Alpine’s until @MikeE024 turned my head to the Sony’s. I got enamored with the Sony. It’s so intuitive. There’s pretty much no learning curve. If you get it, hook everything up to the back that comes with the unit. I dove know how much I’d get out of the Maestro, but I’m still considering it. I love that it has 5V. The wireless Apple CarPlay connects fast. I’m often still in park. Sounds amazing

I just snagged the AX3700! Was $298 on Amazon. Spammed chatgpt with questions comparing the different models. I personally don’t have use for the camera and hdmi, so I opted for the cheapest option that had most of the features as the 6000.

Also going to snag the metra DDIN kit

Any recommendations on double dins with Carplay AND a physical volume knob?

Check out single din with a large floating screen The screens are usually bigger than a standard double DIN. I put one in with android auto and it has been working just fine. I have it all the way down and angled towards me. It doesn't block the vents but it does block my view of the AC controls. I can still reach them just fine but can't see them. Don't really need to though.

The screen can be pulled off and stored elsewhere.

I went with a cheap model with 8" screen. I probably wouldn't recommend for hard core wheeling but I am happy with mine.

I like the cheap Android head units with the physical volume knob, like THIS one.

They usually have wireless CarPlay hookups for front and rear cameras too.

For whatever reason, I seem to get caught in surprise rainstorms with my top and doors off.

I lost an Alpine and a Pioneer to the rain, so now I buy the cheap units.

I've only lost one of the cheap units so far.

I put that in my TJ and my wife’s Liberty

I really tried to spend a lot more money and get a name brand that I knew, but I couldn’t find any at any price point that had the features and a physical knob that I was looking for

I've had this one for 2 yrs with no issues so far. It was like $130, has a physical volume knob and input for a front camera. It came with a rear camera. I'm running amps so can't speak to the powering speakers with just the radio.
