Starter connector to harness

I am try to remove my wire harness, so far I’ve been able to disconnect every thing except the starter and the oil pressure sending unit. On the plug for the starter, when I tried to pull the red tab it crumbled. Is there any way to disconnect it without being able to pull out the red locking tab? I messed with this one plug for almost an hour with no luck.

Try a sharp pick...I can usually squirm one between the black plastic and wedge out the red clip...they usually stick because of grit...so a good spray of silicone or WD-40 helps.

Yeah, I have tried a pick, a small screw driver, a really small pair of needle nose pliers, from the front, from the back and definitely WD-40 (helped a lot on all the other ones). The biggest issue is that I don’t have a good angle on it. I may pull the starter tomorrow to see if I can get it up higher where I have better access.

If I end up pulling the starter, should I replace it? I should have bought a mopar replacement when I could find one. This one has been sitting for 7 years (long story).

If I knew where to get a replacement connector I would just snip the wires and splice in a new one. But without being able to get it apart I can’t see enough to know what to look for

well, with fresh eyes and better daylight, I was able to push the tab from the back using a small screwdriver. Still wondering if I should replace the starter while it’s out.

Nice work and I wouldn't replace it...new parts are worse than old parts.
