Starting issues

Hello, recently i have been having some issues with my 97 TJ, and was looking for some guidance. A couple weeks ago i noticed that the jeep would backfire, and lose power while driving where i would have zero accelleration despite pushing the pedal, sometimes leading to stalling and having to start the car on the side of the road. I got the jeep in and had the fuel pump replaced hoping that would solve the problem, but no dice. Shortly after this i would have difficulty starting the car, with it just cranking away without starting, until it would eventually start, run for 2 or 3 seconds then die. This problem has gotten worse until it hit the piint it would just crank and crank with no go. Now yesterday i was able to get a new ignition coil and get it replaced with ease, but itnis still doing the same thing. Cranking, but not starting for minutes and minutes.

If anyone has any recommendations i would love to hear them. I am pretty stumped, and rather annoyed.

How much fuel pressure do you have? Gotta know that to successfully help.

Hopefully you still have the original pump.

My guess is the new one is crap.

As stated...need to check your fuel pressure.

Monitoring live ODB data would help...want to watch your O2 voltages and long and short fuel trims.

It could be your cats are plugged up. If you get it started feel if you have good pressure coming out of the exhaust pipe.

If you have no C-E lite then Cats or pump. Cats break apart and clog. Your OBD Map reading will be pegged high with only a little throttle if you could get it started. Drop the Cats and exhaust down before you throw another pump at it. Wish I could drive it. I'd know right away.
