How much movement should the steering box have at the steering shaft connection point?
The PO of my jeep replaced the steering box already, I have the 'old' one as well. I have lots of play in the steering wheel and thought it was the steering shaft but as I was installing a new one I noticed when I connected the shaft I was able to turn the shaft / box quite a bit without moving the pitman arm. It shouldnt do that right? Take a look at the video, you can see how much I turn the shaft which is connected to the box. The other end of the steering shaft isnt connected to anything, dont think that matters. Can I turn / tighten the adjustment on the front / top of the steering box to try and remove this play??
