Stereo system questions!

What size speakers fit into the stock dash locations? What is the best single-din install kit? Also what is the best sound bar? I ultimately want the jeep to have a good sound system so its nice to drive.

Crutchfield is your friend. Go there and grab a set of 5.25" speakers for the front dash. Crutchfield will include the speaker adapters and pigtail connectors for free.

Speaker pods - 5.25" are stock, but a few people have fit 6.5" speakers in there.

If you want a new head unit, crutchfield will sell you the head unit and throw in for free the install kits, which is the dash bezel, antenna extension and wire harness.

What is your budget and I will throw you some decent options. Depending on your budget Ipl see if I can squeeze an amplifier in there for you.

I used to work in the Auto audio industry so i know a fair amount, on crutchfield they only show one metra kit and it doesnt look very good, I know they make more but its not on crutchfield.

Crutchfield has this one for a 2001 Wrangler, which I assume is your Jeeps year from your profile page.

Model number 99-6000 or 99-6700. Looks like the 6700 has a couple extra locking tabs, but both say they fit the early year TJs.

Yeah the metra kit crutchfield sends you is a total piece of crap. Dont even consider much more than finger tightening the screws holding the head unit to the harness or the plastic will snap. I ended up having to use large fender washers with another down step washer on all 4 screws to make the harness work.
