Stuck Door

So the other day I slammed my passenger door shut, and ever since my door has not been able to open. You are able to move the handle, but nothing will budge. We've tried taking off the door panel to check out the locking mechanism, but we weren't able to fully pull it off. Any advice or anything else i should try? Before i pry the door off haha, or at least cut the bracket the locking mechanism is attached too.

If it is full door check and see if your seat belt got caught in the latch,happened to us and was a real learning experience.

Why not take it to a Jeep dealer or a Jeep dealer’s body shop first before prying or cutting the mechanism?
Seems like it has to be the rods inside the door behind the door panel that are attached to the handle. Your ability to pull the door paddle and nothing happens screams to me a fault with the internals of the handle.

Locksmith or AAA might be able to work it open also. They get locked doors open, which essentially is what you're facing. I agree with @Fouledplugs in that the internal rods are connected to the latch and handle mechanisms by plastic clips. Chances are one of those clips broke when the door was slammed, causing the rod to come free on the handle end...

Royal PITA when that happens, I ordered a couple of used latch loops on ebay (part that bolts to the door jam) then folded the seat forward and cut the old loop with a sawzall kneeling behind the seat. Made it a lot easier to deal with having the door open for access.
