Temp gauge selection

I have a generic Bosch Temp Gage for my transmission temp. Works great! Want to put a water temp sensor in the engine. Question: How would I rig up a switch for reading one or the other on the same Gage? Up for one sensor and down for the other, etc. and what type of switch would be needed?

Your engine already has an accurate water temperature sender, and the temperature shown is accurate on the instrument cluster.... it's not a "fake" gauge.

Not to mention the resistance values for the coolant temperature sender may not match up to the Bosch gauge's sender resistance values. In other words it may not be accurate if you connect the OE temperature sender mounted in the thermostat housing to the Bosch gauge via that SPDT switch.

Why, when the OE temperature gauge is known accurate? Newer oil pressure gauges aren't but the temperature gauge is.

It sits on a hair over 210 and never moves once it reaches road temperature,which is fine. That is the temperature the engine was designed to run at. But I don't really trust it for some reason. When the thermostat opens I feel that it should move some what and it doesn't. I feel it is an Idiot Gage. Haven't seen anything to the contrary. A gauge would enlighten me more.
