I did just that, no codes. The cats would definitely be next on my list.
Be careful though, you can't just get rid of them or it will throw check engine lights that won't go away (with the exception of the third cat under the vehicle).

Ditched my third cat.Did just what?
Often times the clogged cats don't throw any codes. Mine didn't when they went bad.
Ditched my third cat.
Do you have a small cat on the down pipe? Thats where mine was plugged. Remove the the farthest up stream o2 sensor and drive it. It will be loud but if its that cat it should run fine. You`ll get a code. It’s definitely not the cat. I took it off as well as the muffler, install new muffler without the cat and same issue
