Hi, I have a 2001 Wrangler TJ 4.0L Sport w the 5 speed manual trans. Before I was lifted every now and then when i started up in 1st gear i’d hear a quick popping sound coming from somewhere in the front. It would only happen every few times i started to drive in first and it only would pop a couple times at the very beginning and then stop. Idk if it being lifted or not is helpful info but now that it is lifted it makes the same popping sound every single time I start driving in 1st gear, with the same exact symptoms (it pops a few times but once i get past like 2-3 MPH it quits popping). Also (correct me if I am wrong i’m new to mechanic work) but when you go in reverse the drive shaft is spinning the opposite way than it spins when going forward. i noticed on a hill the other day that i rolled back a little when i was going into first and it didn’t pop going reverse but once i started to go forward it popped a few times as usual. Any idea as to what this could be? Thanks
