Clunking/popping sound

What would cause a clunking/popping sound when turning from a standstill? Ball joints look to be fine. If it the track bar that’s coming off tomorrow and getting replaced with the Currie Jeep speed track bar. Thank!

Likely so . You can have a control arm do that too at the weight shifts.

My TJ would make a clunk/grinding sound when turning sharply, I had a hard time pin-pointing it, but it ended up being my axle u-joints were toasted.

Yeah i was thinking it was the u-joints but it’s hard to tell. It’s when I’m atba stand still and i turn left mostly.

I figured it out by laying under the Jeep and turning the front driveshaft back and forth, paying attention to any movement in the axle u-joints. Mine had got fairly bad at that point so it was pretty obvious.

Not trying to sound smart , but realize there are axle u joints behind your brake drums and u joints on your drive shaft .
