I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I bought a 2000 TJ about three weeks ago from my father. He is in the market for a 19' or 20' Wrangler and decided to sell his. I wasn't really in the market for one, but, I got it for a good deal, so, here we are. He bought it in 2010 from the original owner with 46K miles on it. I bought it with 100K. The old man is crazy about maintenance and vehicle care and it shows...
Anywho, I figured I'd post about the stereo I put in it. He had an old JVC single din with factory speakers in it. IT DID NOT SOUND GOOD. Very hard to hear on the interstate. So, I decided that would be the first thing to get replaced. People always get on forums asking what everyone is running, so, that's the main reason for the post. I got everything from Crutchfield, and it came in two days.
Gear as follows:
-Sony XAV-AX1000
-Kicker 44KSC4604 (Front/Dash)
-Pioneer TS-G520
-Rockford Fosgate R600X5
**Plus the required harnesses and whatnot**
All said, I've got a little over $700 in it. I already had a 10' older Sony sub in a box that I was able to use. I've had some really some really high end Stereo's over the years, growing up. But, the older I've gotten, I just don't care that much as long as I can hear it. Well, you can hear it. It sounds great! Very very pleased with the money spent. The front images as properly as it can for the location of the speakers. With the amp, the fronts and rears are perfect together. And, the sub adds the perfect amount of low end. It sounds great with the top off at 70mph.
