Or again, just do it right with a SYE. Don’t have to worry about MMLs, ghetto TC drop, etc. just sayin! Eventually if you keep the Jeep you’ll end up doing a SYE anyway. It’s $250 and solves your issues

You just move the fan shroud up 1". Or you go ahead and do a 1" body lift at the same time, then you have a 3 1/2" Combo lift, looks good and you can roll 33's,no problem
My 31s hit the front fenders at full flex when disconnected with a 2" budget boost and 3.5" backspaced rims, if that makes a difference. I would imagine 2" + 1.5" would be similar for 33s.
Well you’re about right. I didn’t think of that. Sleep deprivation. Still, I would rather save and do it right the first time, versus being in a hurry and just doing something to get by regardless it will be fine for him I’m sure!! thanks for the correction.

I'm in a similar boat as OP. I'd like to solve some problems but I think during the virus is the perfect time to spend a little slower or not at all. Just wanted to make sure I had everything straight as far as costs for options. Thanks for confirming.
Excuse this possible stupid question. IIRC I was tossing 4" springs under '7s and YJs (a few decades ago) with no driveline problems. And I think they even had a higher skid height. Why are there so many vibe problems with the TJ?
