Under hood vibration

Today while in town, I noticed a good bit of vibration coming from under the hood. So when I came to a stop sign I figured it would stop. Well it didn't . I got back up to speed and thought I would turn the a/c off and the vibration stopped. So I guess the compressor was doing all the vibrating. I did it several time with the same results. Do yall know whats causing it??
Ya know I just did a motor mount lift, so I had to take the belt off and loosen the alternator . When I put the belt back on, I tightened down on the belt till it had about 1/2" to 3/4" (when pushing down hard on the belt) slack at the longest part.

You know there is a tensioner pulley that releases the belt right? No adjustment needed, 1/2 ratchet will release the tension and it self returns to tight.

No I did not . i have a 97 jeep tj 4.0 w/ac.
all my research showed that I had to loosen a bolt then turn another bolt left to loosen the tension on the belt. There was no option for just a pulley release ( like you would use a 1/2 ratchet to pry down on the get the belt off.

Earlier TJs have manual belt tension. No spring loaded tension on the 97.

Ah that's too bad, Changing the belt with the tension pulley was a piece of cake

I get a bit of vibration and noise from my a/c compressor as well. Probably not normal.

I find it s double edged sword. I personally find it much easier to remove and install. But getting the tension set right it a pain.
Too tight and you can dammage barrings.

Well, if it only happens when the AC on, that seems to single out the AC compressor as the culprit. Maybe the compressor pulley itself is somehow unbalanced (are they even balanced to begin with)?

well I"ll do a little more hands on today. Really did not have time yesterday. It has not had this much vibs before. the only thing I did this weekend was the belly up skid, and it only raised it about 1.5" give or take, and I dont think that had anything to do with it.
I"ll turn it off and on and take a visual look. If I find anything Ill let yall know.
