I purchased a Lange hoist-a-top for a TJ. I wanted to be able to lift my TJ, LJ, and old school Bronco hardtops with the same lift frame. After adding on to the 1x1x16th inch wall frame that came with the hoist, I felt there was too much flex lifting the heavier tops. I decided to make a new frame out of 1x1x.120 wall tubing with a back strap. The back strap was drilled for numerous ballancing points and notched for bolt clearance when moving the rear 'J' hook in for the TJ. I also extended the 'T' arms by 3 inches for wider placement of the front hooks when lifting the Bronco top.
