Unrecognized VIN number

Hi don’t know anyone that can help as I am running out of ideas , I have a1998 Jeep Wrangler Tj which is registered Spanish and the vehicle is in Spain, I took it for the 1st mot or itv since owning it , they failed the car on a unrecognised vin number on the chassis as through time it’s half worn off obviously there are other places on the jeep this can be seen but they say it is not good enough , it is a genuine jeep with lots of history, how do I get some kind of document to prove it’s legal , thanks

Besides metal sn# plate at cowl under windshield. There is a sticker on driver door post also various stickers on fenders under hood etc. at least on usa sold units

X2 to this. There are multiple VINs on the vehicle. Check them to make sure they all match.
