I did a smoke test and noticed a ton of smoke coming from the throttle body. It’s right where the spring is. I also sprayed some carb cleaner and the engine bogged down. I thought I read somewhere that this are is not sealed but that makes no sense. Could someone let me know if this is suppose to be air tight? What fix if any would I need to do? Would this cause a vacuum loose? Trying to attach a video but having no luck.

I believe this is supposed to be nearly sealed, if not outright sealed. If air is getting into the engine there, there is a problem, since it would be bringing whatever dust is in the air with it
