Question? Bought a beautiful factory 1 owner 03 tj 3 speed automatic, inline 6 4.0l, exact same setup as 99 xjs.
vin is a cal vin updated obdll with 75,000 in 2016-7. Drove it east to northern new england in 2020 had it reg n inspected one year out of California. Nothing but fluids and tires sense owning. My question is what actions are there to verify vin obdll motor frame everything before i salvage title?. Help

I confused. You're talking about a low mileage 03, and then years later a salvage title?

I think the question is probably state and possibly even county specific.

Did you even bother proofreading what you just wrote?

Sorry let me clear that up. what are some options or even actions legal or not to validate and confirm tampered vin as well as stolen property? Ive done some research on this and from what im finding out is a vehicle purchased from California is specific with emission codes cid # cvn #. I have photos before/after if it would help

Don't know when they started but every body panel on my '05 LJ has a VIN tag on it, I assume it's on the frame as well.

I still don't understand what you're trying to do. Did you not verify the vehicle before buying it? Even if you didn't, what now, all of the sudden, makes you think something's janky?

Thanks chris for your administrative help! If you don’t understand, by all means ask anything, do my best to clear up any confusion Appreciate the feedback asmin

I still feel like we need some background info as to what's going on here.

I don't know for sure, but perhaps you've got a PCM in there that isn't programmed to the vehicle or something? @Wranglerfix may be able to shed some light on that (or not).
