She’s just turned into my everyday driver for about 6 weeks. Tape measure on springs and other pics from underneath including front. Read other threads and I just need a ride that’s not stiff or bouncy. Left to right sway and bounce at 40 plus. Almost like dirt tracking lol. I’m seeing a 4” lift? Bought just like it sits a few years ago. I replaced OPDA with crown and new O2’s (ntk) along with new tires, calipers on the front. Just want to make sure I get the right shocks and bushings.

35” tires. When I changed the lube, I confirmed it has the oem 3.77 gears. 😤

Thanks for the reply. Alignment shop said the same thing on pitman arm and tie rods. Can I measure without removing? 30 degree highs for about a week or longer here. Also will be crawling under it lol.

The only way to really know what size shocks you need is to remove the shocks and springs and cycle the suspension and then take measurements.

Rancho RS5000X shocks have a soft ride. In addition, make sure you're running the correct tire pressure which is usually around 26-28 psi max. Over-inflated tires leads to awful ride quality.

Assuming proper extension of bump stops, you can get pretty close with a tape measure.

Bumps should contact (fully compress if jounced) prior to shock bottom out.

Compressed: Less than measured shock at ride height minus available bump stop distance.
Extended: At least measured shock at ride height plus available bump stop distance (for balanced shock travel). The greater the extension, in general, the better the articulation.

If they are current line RC shocks, you can find dimensions on their site from the part number, for example:

I was afraid of that. Gonna have to warm up some regardless. Pulling springs and shocks would be a tall task for me without a lift. Thanks for the responses! I’ll see if I can get a part number on the shocks.

Do these numbers tell the tale. Maybe part number and length?
Rough Country. Gonna call them tomorrow. All sway arm bushings are wore out along with the bushing where shock mounts to the axle. Lots of movement just by hand. Like I said, I need a band-aide for a couple weeks if possible of coarse. New vehicle purchase in two weeks.

Talked to Rough Country today. Q14 was the line. Luckily I talked to someone who remembered them and they came with the lift kit. 4”. Over 10 years old but no info on the website. Now I have a better idea on how to move forward. Gonna install their replacement for now along with sway bar bushings then look at upgrading with a new lift. I appreciate ya’ll responding.
