Hello,
It is the real, have to slow way down, get to the side of the highway fast kind of wobble. Front end shakes side to side visibly and violently from the cockpit view.
It's been happening since last Wednesday. Scared me pretty good as it happened 3 times within about a mile stretch the first day.
There is one section of highway that is pretty much guaranteed to set it off every time I've gone through there. So I've been avoiding that area as best as possible.
133k miles. No lift. Stock running gear and stock 235 size Goodyear Wrangler tires with newish tread, on stock 15 inch steel wheels. I bought it this way on father's day this year. It drove perfectly for the first 1-2 weeks I owned it. In fact I didn't want to lift it in fear off ruining the way it drove.
A new track bar and stabilizer that I installed Wednesday evening. Although I'm thinking about ordering a polyurethane bushing set for the stock track bar as my steering wheel is now off center, so I feel like the replacement wasn't exact stock size.
It does have a hard top and an aftermarket front bumper and winch that doesn't appear to have ever been used.
The Jeep shows no sign of real off-road use.
I drive 16 miles each way to work primarily highway if I want to get there quickly. I'm growing to dislike driving it for fear of losing control, and I won't put my young boys in it if I'm going to be on the highway.
The 3 shops I've talked to have all said different things. Steering box, track bar, steering stabilizer, some odd bearing in the rear driveshaft....
