What is this Part used called

Hi

New on Forum and I am wondering what is this part used for on my TJ 98 4.0 engine - Part I am looking for is shown with black arrow
TOP of the part is having a rubber cracked so I guess I would need to have a new one.
My car is running fine , no issue

That's a vacuum port being plugged with a piece of hose and a screw. I would replace that with a proper cap.

The nipple measures .25" or 6.37mm. I would try a 6mm cap. Might be hard to find a 1/4" cap where you are. Those are common here in auto parts stores.

99.99% certain the port is NPT, what do you guess, 3/8" or 1/2" NPT and a basic NPT pipe plug solves the issue?

If its NPT its 1/4". That would be the forever fix.
