What is this?

Can anyone tell me what this plug goes to on 03 TJ? I disassembled the dash trim and it was found disconnected but there is nothing to connect to.

That is the plug for the optional compass/temperature mirror.

It is the rear view mirror wiring harness that goes to the bcm or pcm. If your TJ came with the optional self dimming rear view mirror that also has maps lights, it would have a wiring harness that would run from the mirror on the windshield down to that plug under the defrost dash panel.

Wether you got the option or not, lots of times the wiring harness is universal.

One of the wires in that harness is 12v constant hot. I used it to power my CB so I wouldn't have to have the key on.
